Prenatal Yoga - with Rebecca Lewis

3 week prenatal sequence

The prime goals of the sequence will be to assist you in cultivating your innate wisdom of body mind and spirit, and to support and empower you through the changes you experience during pregnancy and childbirth. It is appropriate to join at any point in time during the sequence; the classes are designed to support you through your pregnancy from 12 weeks onwards. Private tuition available from early pregnancy through to birth and beyond.

The structure of the sequence is as follows:

Week One
Grounding principles: The Physicality of Pregnancy

Cultivating

  • Muscular and skeletal awareness
  • Muscle strengthening; in particular abdominals, pelvic floor, and legs
  • The foundations for active birthing (pelvic awareness and opening)
  • Spinal and back support for comfort in pregnancy
  • Deep physical relaxation
  • Deep physical connection to baby

Week Two
Flowing principles: The Breath and Hormones

Cultivating

  • Breath  awareness for active birthing
  • Flowing with change
  • Deep surrender to breath
  • Deep Connection to baby’s life-force

Week Three
Sound and Light principles: Vibration, Energy and the Central Nervous System

Cultivating

  • Calming of the Central Nervous Systems of you and your baby using sound
  • Active birthing methods of sound release and relief
  • Visualisation for active birthing
  • Deep connection to baby essence through visualisation and sounding

Investment: $50 for three classes.
